Anyone with a entry level DSLR and the ability to use selective coloring in Photoshop can call themselves a photographer these days. And you know what? More power to them. It’s a fantastic medium to become thoroughly enamored with, especially with the immediacy of digital kicking the learning curve past the speed of light. But while the beginners have a field day snapping photos of their children, animals and artsy shallow depth photos of flowers & food, they are not someone you want to hire to shoot your lookbook, product photos, head shots, etc. Maybe some day they will reach that level, but in the meantime [and beyond] you want to book me.
