In November of 2009, I decided that my new mantra would be ‘now or never’.. it sure beat the old one of ‘don’t hit the child no matter how ill behaved they are.’ I was working at a photography company that gave me phenomenal technical skills, and a twitch from having to deal with snotty kids and arrogant teenagers day after day. Since I valued what little sanity I had left, I decided to quit and design one of a kind jewelry [clyde's rebirth] full time. Obviously this was a reasonable choice since the pieces I had made for my mother at age four were amazing….However, I had more skills than I gave myself credit for and received an amazing response for the first few pieces crafted. That gave me the ammunition to dive headfirst into my new career. Though I was a brand spanking new designer, you better believe I had the gumption and stubbornness of a seasoned vet.
With clyde’s rebirth I get to combine my love of anything bright and sparkly with an intense appreciation of the three R’s we should all strive to live by. I use only vintage and pre-loved pieces to create my unique and one of a kind designs, and lovingly wrap them in vintage scarves as a green alternative to paper packaging to send them off to their new homes.
To see the gems themselves, you have two options currently online: the etsy shop or the newly launched big cartel shop that houses the new fall 2012 line! For more information on this newest clyde’s rebirth endeavor, check out this blog post for the background story.
